Frequently Asked Questions

Muscle + Joint Formula

How is NutriEquine Muscle + Joint different from a conventional glucosamine joint supplement?
Systemic enzymes are the foundation of this formula. It was not designed as a traditional glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement with digestive enzymes added to it. The primary focus is the systemic enzyme complex, with glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM included as complementary joint-support ingredients.

Are systemic enzymes the same as digestive enzymes?
No — the two should not be confused. Although enzymes are commonly associated with digestion, systemic enzyme formulations are designed for a different purpose. The enzymes in this formula were specifically selected to support normal physiological processes throughout the body, including joint function, mobility and a healthy response to inflammation.

How much glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM is in each serving of NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement?
These three ingredients play a supporting role in the formula. We understand the desire to compare individual quantities with conventional joint supplements. However, evaluating this formula solely on the amounts of glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM does not accurately reflect how the product was formulated or its primary approach to joint support.

Where do your ingredients come from for NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement?
Key ingredients used in this formula are sourced from an NASC Preferred Supplier with extensive experience developing and supplying specialty ingredients for animal health products.

How is the product manufactured?
Our manufacturing partner operates an NSF-certified facility with established quality-control procedures. Ingredients are subject to testing and quality standards designed to verify factors such as identity, purity, potency and safety.

Does the product carry the NASC Quality Seal?
NASC Quality Seal and NASC Preferred Supplier are different distinctions. This finished product does not currently carry the NASC Quality Seal. That does not mean the product lacks manufacturing standards, ingredient testing or quality controls. NASC's Quality Seal is a valuable voluntary industry program, but it is not the sole measure of the quality or integrity of an animal supplement.

Will you publish the full quantities of each ingredient?
We hear the request for greater transparency. We appreciate the feedback regarding individual ingredient quantities and, equally importantly, recognize that we can do a better job explaining the role of the systemic enzyme complex and how this formula differs from conventional glucosamine-based joint supplements. We stand behind the quality and thoughtful design of this formula, and our goal is to offer a comprehensive approach to equine joint health and mobility using carefully selected ingredients and rigorous manufacturing standards.

Feeding & Storage

How much do I feed?
Sprinkle on feed. For the first 2–4 weeks, feed an initial rate twice daily, then move to maintenance:

Horse bodyweight Initial (2–4 weeks) Maintenance
Under 600 lbs 1 scoop AM + 1 scoop PM 1 scoop daily
600–1200 lbs 1–2 scoops AM + 1–2 scoops PM 1–2 scoops daily
1200+ lbs 2 scoops AM + 2 scoops PM 2 scoops daily

How long does one tub last?
Each tub is 1.72 lbs (780 g) — 60 servings at 13 g per serving, or a 60-day supply at one serving daily.

Why does the formula require a 2–4 week initial loading period?
Musculoskeletal tissues and systemic enzyme levels take time to build up in the horse's system. The initial loading phase (feeding twice daily) ensures your horse's body receives an optimal concentration of active ingredients to kickstart tissue recovery and joint lubrication. After this 2-to-4-week window, you can safely drop down to the single daily maintenance dose.

Can I split the daily maintenance dose between morning and night feedings?
Yes. While the maintenance dose can be given all at once daily, splitting the dose between AM and PM meals is highly recommended if your horse is a picky eater, or if you want to maintain a perfectly steady, continuous supply of systemic enzymes in their bloodstream throughout the day.

What if my horse won't eat NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement?
Horses are naturally sensitive to new scents and tastes, so we recommend introducing the supplement gradually rather than serving a full dose on day one. Start by mixing just a pinch or a quarter-scoop into a small portion of their favorite feed, slowly building up to the recommended serving over 5 to 7 days. You can also bind the supplement to the feed by adding a splash of water or healthy oil, which prevents them from sorting it out. For particularly picky eaters, try masking the aroma with a spoonful of unsweetened applesauce, molasses, or a handful of grated carrots.

How should I store NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement?
To maintain maximum freshness and potency, store the supplement in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, ensuring the container is tightly sealed after each use. Avoid storing it in areas prone to extreme heat or freezing temperatures, such as uninsulated tack rooms or trailers during peak summer or winter. If you live in a high-humidity environment, consider keeping the container inside a climate-controlled room to prevent moisture and clumping. Always check the expiration date on the packaging, and ensure the product is kept safely out of reach of children and other animals.

Suitability

Which horses is NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement for?
NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement is specifically formulated for active, training, and performance horses across all demanding disciplines, including horse racing, barrel racing, show jumping, polo, and recreational riding. It is engineered for horses experiencing regular high-impact training or those recovering from everyday exercise-related soreness, joint stiffness, and muscle stress. By combining structural cartilage support (glucosamine and chondroitin) with soft tissue and inflammation-management ingredients (MSM and systemic enzymes like serrapeptase), this daily powder provides mobility and tissue-health support for equine athletes maintaining fitness and long-term joint health.

Is it safe for competition?
The active nutritional ingredients in NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement — including glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and digestive probiotics — are widely recognized as safe and are not listed as prohibited substances on standard equine competitive banned lists, such as the FEI Prohibited Substances Database or the US Equestrian (USEF) Drugs & Medications Guidelines. Additionally, systemic enzymes like serrapeptase and bromelain are commonly used to support natural recovery from exercise-induced inflammation. However, because governing bodies continuously update their testing thresholds and do not explicitly pre-approve or regulate commercial supplements, we always recommend that competitors consult their veterinarian or check their specific discipline's rulebook prior to event day.

Can I feed NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement alongside other supplements?
Yes, NutriEquine Muscle & Joint Supplement is highly versatile and can generally be fed alongside standard hoof, coat, or calming supplements. Because our formula features built-in digestive enzymes and ProbioSEB CSC3™ probiotics, it works to support your horse's hindgut environment, helping overall nutrient absorption from their entire daily ration. However, to avoid nutritional imbalances or accidental overloads, you should carefully review the active ingredient labels of your other supplements to ensure you aren't doubling up on identical ingredients like MSM, glucosamine, or chondroitin. As with any dietary modification, we recommend consulting an equine nutritionist or your veterinarian to cross-reference your horse's specific wellness program.

How long before I see results?
While every horse responds individually based on their age, workload, and current joint status, most owners begin noticing initial improvements in comfort, flexibility, and overall mobility within 2 to 4 weeks. This timeline directly aligns with the initial loading period (feeding the supplement twice daily), which allows the systemic enzymes and structural cartilage ingredients to build up to optimal levels in the horse's system. For maximum, long-term structural and soft-tissue support, the supplement should be fed consistently every day at the recommended maintenance dose after the loading phase is complete.
